Forecasting
Welcome to the Kutztown Forecasting Contest page! We will be forecasting the high temperatures, low temperatures, and precipitation for a selected city each week. Use the Useful Links tab on this website to help you forecast.

Penalties of 1 point off for each degree Fahrenheit away from the actual high and low temperature will be issued. You will also get 4 points for each precipitation category you are off. Precipitation is based on liquid equivalence. Precipitation falls into these categories:

Category 0 - No precip
Category 1 - Trace to 0.05"
Category 2 - 0.06" to 0.24"
Category 3 - 0.25" to 0.49"
Category 4 - 0.50" to 0.74"
Category 5 - 0.75" and above
All forecasts are due by 12 AM! We forecast from midnight to midnight. Like in golf, lowest score wins! I will be playing but I cannot win as this contest is designed for you the students. Good luck and, above all, have fun!

Standings are determined based on the collective point total of the semester. For each city, first place earns the most points, second place earns the second most, and so forth. Points are accrued. In the case of ties, half points are awarded based on the average of those places. For ties in standings, it simply goes alphabetically. Change in standings from week to week are represented in parentheses.
